The Antiquarian Horological Society, abbreviated to AHS, is the UK-based learned society for scholars and enthusiasts of horology. The Society was founded in 1953. It unites collectors, scholars and museum professionals interested in the historical aspects of horology – the study of the art, science, social history and technology of timekeepers, such as clocks and watches.
Premier Lift Group were engaged by the architect to help incorporate disabled access into the new London Headquarters of the society. The project presented various issue to overcome in terms of the size and shape of the building. Premier provided a compact access solution that as part of the overall brief needed to be as beautiful as it was functional! The results were stunning and along side the feature timber staircase the lift sits in prime position finished in an architectural bronze finish with frame-less glass balustrade at the upper level. The lift then descends into the communal lower ground floor behind a beautiful critical style door providing access to the toilets, kitchen and communal spaces.
